It’s the 100th Anniversary of Turkish Republic. It’s celebrated all over Turkey. Mayor’s office ordered a new statue of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, founder of modern Turkish Republic.
Today is there is an opening ceremony for the new statue near Damlatas Beach, in the park called 100.Yıl Park. At the entrance, there’s an exhibition of photographs re-shot with kids dressed & posed like Ataturk in well-known pics of him.
There’s a live band playing lovely Turkish folk music with instruments like clarinet and drums. People gathered in the venue with red Turkish flags and balloons. There are many students from elementary schools around.
